If you’re a tax accountant with extensive knowledge of Australian & New Zealand taxation, this is an opportunity to join a team with growing potential to upskill yourself. You will be supporting the Tax manager and mentoring a team of juniors which will give you exposure to team management and become a manager yourself one day.
You will mainly be Responsible for managing all aspects of tax for listed and privately owned groups with a tax risk management focus, including the year end tax effect accounting process, direct and indirect tax reporting obligations as well as developing tax risk management policies and board reporting.
Responsibilities within this role will include but not limited to:
Tax Planning and Tax Returns
Group tax reporting covering 4 business entities
Monitoring the tax risks of the whole group
Assisting in ad-hoc tax assignments
Reviewing of tax statements prepared by juniors
Negotiating ATO Tax Debts
Constantly liaising with the ATO regarding lodgements, ABN, TFN, PAYG and GST matters.
Training and mentoring of juniors
Skills & Experience
CA qualification, bachelor’s degree in accounting/finance
Master of Taxation highly desirable
Attention to detail
3+ years’ experience in a similar role
Excellent written and verbal communication
Advanced computer skills, specifically MS Office and MYOB and/or XERO
Commitment to delivering exceptional client service
You will be required to work 3 days from the office and 2 days from home.
