What's the role?We are looking for a
Senior Tax Accountant to join the News Corp Finance team based in our Surry Hills office (next to Central station)This is a permanent, full time position with hybrid working ( 3 days office, 2 days WFH).
Key Responsibilities- Manage the preparation of direct and indirect tax compliance obligations for the Australian tax group (e.g. GST, FBT,income tax), including quarterly tax forecasting and year end income tax reporting
Providing tax advice to relevant stakeholders on various tax mattersAssist with identifying, developing and implementing process improvements to increase operational efficiency of tax processesAssist with the management of tax regulatory authority reviewsEnsure internal processes are compliant with existing tax laws by monitoring tax developmentsMentor junior members of the team
Who are you?- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field
Ideally CA / CPA or near qualifiedTax experience gained in a large, complex corporate organisation or a large chartered accounting firmDemonstrated experience in preparing GST, FBT company tax returns and other compliance obligations. Tax effect accounting knowledge and experience is preferredStrong problem solving skills and attention to detailStrong written and verbal skills to articulate complex information in a clear and concise mannerAbility to work autonomously but also be a team playerExperience with tax software including CCH Integrator and FBT OneSource.News BenefitsNews Benefits is our way of saying thank you to our people for their valued contribution to News, our audiences, clients and communities.
