Tax Accountant- Corporate and FinanceThis large financial organization with oversea branches located in major cities in the world is currently looking for a Tax Accountant.
While Tax Accounting is the main responsibility, this role also involves Corporate Accounting and Financial Accounting. They are seeking someone with solid experience in Australian corporate tax practices. This role falls under the Control and Risk Management Department. Overseen by a Senior Manager, the department consists of two Officers and one Associate, total four local staff responsible for our accounting and taxation. This position, aiming for a flat structure where Three Officers share responsibilities such as accounting, taxation, and regulatory reporting.

• Full time Perm 9:00-17:00
• Sydney CBD Hybrid working arrangement

Essential Responsibilities:Tax and accounting matters

• Prepare documents necessary for tax application and inspection
• Update regulations regarding taxation and accounting (supported by external specialists)
• Oversees tax compliance & remedial activities (supported by SM:Senior Manager and external specialists)
• Implement daily, monthly, quarterly and annually operations related to accounting and taxation
• Operate and manage accounting system
• Troubleshooting regarding tax and accounting matters (advised by SM and external specialists)
• Support external audits and prepare financial statements

Risk Management

• Support liquidity risk management by calculating cash flow of the Company
• Update and improve cash flow sheet
• Support SM to manage the other risks of the Company

Control of budget (management accounting)

• Prepare and monitor expense budget plan
• Prepare expense payment related to CRM
• Prepare monthly management accounting and improve it if necessary

Reporting to authorities and the parent bank

• Prepare regulatory reports and submit to authorities
• Update the regulatory requirements and manage the reporting system
• Prepare regular reports for the parent bank
• Deal with inquiries from authorities and the parent bank

IT

• Develop and support data management which meets the Company's business requirement
• Support SM regarding IT of the Company

Others

• Educate and support junior staff to work
• Renew policies and procedures of CRM
• Communicate and work with other department regarding troubleshooting and new event or business
• Support SM regarding compliance matters
• Support and back up other local staff (including other departments)
• Approve designated operations the Company delegates to you in relation to tax and accounting matters, Reporting to authorities and the parent bank and IT (data management)
• Other such duties as the Company may reasonably direct you to perform

Skill and background

• Working experience as Tax Accounting
• Given reporting requirements to our Tokyo headquarters, proficiency in Japanese is preferred but not mandatory
