Join a team of three reporting directly to the Tax Manager and working closely with senior leadership and executives.
Description
Role Overview:
0 to 6 months:
- Assist in ensuring compliance with the internal Tax Governance and Control Framework.
- Provide timely tax advice to key stakeholders.
- Prepare tax analysis on the impact of new legislation.
- Maintain tax fixed asset register and tax funding agreements.
6 to 12 months:
- Prepare income tax, indirect tax, and employment tax returns.
- Liaise with tax agents and the Australian Tax Office.
- Maintain general ledger and reconcile tax-sensitive accounts.
- Contribute to external auditor inquiries on tax matters.
12 to 24 months:
- Raise tax awareness and build relationships across the organisation.
- Identify and implement process improvements.
- Provide ad-hoc query support, analysis, and project work.
- Progress to Senior Tax Advisor
Profile
- 5+ years of post-qualification experience in tax, preferably with CA/CPA or Masters in Tax.
- Proficiency in various types of taxation, including company tax, transfer pricing, and GST.
- Exceptional communication skills with the ability to engage stakeholders effectively.
- Demonstrated growth mindset and eagerness to learn.
- Strong planning, organisation, and analytical skills.
- Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively.
- Proficient in MS Excel and proactive in decision-making.
