Embark on an exciting opportunity to advance your career with WesTrac as a Tax Manager based at our South Guildford Corporate Office. Reporting directly to the Group Financial Controller, this newly created role invites professional accountants to play a key part in overseeing the meticulous compliance of the business and its affiliated entities with diverse tax obligations, such as income tax, GST, FBT, employment taxes, and withholding taxes.
As the Group Tax Manager, you will not only lead but also inspire a small team of skilled professionals, ensuring the seamless delivery of required tax outcomes in strict adherence to company policies, tax laws, and the parent company's Tax Risk Management Policy. Your leadership will be pivotal in maintaining the utmost standards of professionalism and fostering diversity within the team.
This role offers a unique opportunity to provide strategic guidance to Executive management and the wider business, offering insights into the tax implications of operational decisions. Your expertise will be essential in crafting and executing tax improvement strategies aligned with the business objectives. Furthermore, you will collaborate closely with the Commercial and Legal team, providing valuable support in the preparation of taxation-related documentation for customer and supplier agreements.
To be successful the following is required:
- Significant post qualification experience within a large, complex organisation/s in tax-based roles
- Proven track record of leading teams in tax management, with previous experience as a Tax Manager
- In-depth knowledge of Australian tax code, compliance, and procedures
- Extensive experience in various tax operations with a proven ability to enhance processes and procedures
- Proven track record in establishing and maintaining best practices in tax administration
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively with stakeholders, both internal and external to the business
- Outstanding verbal and written communication abilities, coupled with strategic thinking and influential prowess
- Ability to manage a high workload whilst flexibility adapting to changing priorities and problem solving
