About the role

Are you a tax specialist ready to make your mark in a dynamic environment? Join our Tax Consulting team, where you'll have the autonomy to tackle complex challenges and make impactful decisions. In this specialist role, your expertise will span a wide range of tax-related matters, including income tax, CGT, structuring transactions, and guide clients through their tax affairs. You will also also support and guide our Business Services team with the interpretation and application of complex taxation legislation and provide thought leadership of your specialisation.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Utilise advanced technical analysis to offer practical and commercially viable advice across a wide spectrum of tax matters.
  • Investigate, evaluate, and interpret tax legislation, offering your insights and recommendations.
  • Assist in implementing strategies for key tax planning priorities.
  • Developing successful client relationships and generate business development opportunities.
  • Support the delivery of technical training and professional development.
  • Lead and oversee tax projects from initiation to completion, ensuring seamless execution, and alignment with business goals.
  • Mentor and develop junior team members.
  • In conjunction with Marketing, offer thought leadership content to clients and stakeholders.

Who we're after

You hold a relevant degree in accounting, law, or a related field. Your professional background includes hands-on experience with various tax issues, demonstrating your ability to apply complex tax principles in real-world situations. Additionally, you may specialise in business services and have a keen interest in tax matters and creative problem-solving.

To be successful in this role, you will be able to demonstrate:

  • Relevant degree in accounting, law or related.
  • 5+ years experience in business services, tax consulting or equivalent.
  • An inquisitive an analytical mindset with a passion of delving into complex issues and finding innovate solutions to challenging tax problems.
  • Strong time management to handle competing priorities and manage multiple deadlines effectively.
  • Team orientated approach where you can thrive in a collaborative environment where you can actively support your colleagues, embodying our values in your interactions.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and oral, allowing you to convey complex concepts clearly and persuasively to both clients and peers.
  • Strong attention to detail with a meticulous approach to work ensuring accuracy in analysis and recommendations as well as in the preparation of tax documentation.
  • Adaptable and resilient with the ability to adjust to changing circumstances or priorities, maintaining focus on productivity under pressure.
