Orchard Hills Public School is a semi-rural location, on the outskirts of Penrith. In 2024, 240 students were enrolled at the school. There is a strong community spirit which underpins the values and positive welfare practices of the school. Orchard Hills Public School has a culturally diverse student population representing 34 cultural backgrounds and 54 languages. There is a new housing development in the Orchard Hills Public School catchment area. It is expected that the student population of Orchard Hills Public School will grow during the next few years. The students at Orchard Hills Public School come from a range of cultural backgrounds and are friendly, enthusiastic, and highly engaged learners. Student achievement is monitored and tailored learning opportunities are developed to enhance student performance outcomes. The staff work collaboratively and productively with the community to ensure the best outcomes are achieved for each student. Our student wellbeing program includes a strong anti–bullying component that supports high expectations of student behaviour, social development, and leadership skills. The school is an active member of the Kingswood Learning Community, providing ongoing, dynamic, and purposeful professional learning opportunities for all staff. Our school is a Positive Behaviour for Learning (PBL) school. The focus is every child needs to be safe, respectful and participate actively within all activities across the school.
- Approval to teach Infants and Primary K-6, with demonstrated ability to develop and deliver high quality literacy and numeracy programs.
- Ability to enhance and support whole school PBL wellbeing programs and implement evidence-based behaviour and classroom management strategies to cater for the needs of students with varying behavioural, academic, and social/emotional needs.
- Highly developed interpersonal skills with a demonstrated ability to work actively and authentically when collaborating with students, staff, and parents to support student outcomes and promote a positive school culture.
- A commitment to whole school programs and extra-curricular opportunities for students, including Public Speaking and Debating.
An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.
It is anticipated that this position will commence on day 1 of the 2025 school year.
This is a permanent part time position for 2 days per week 0.4FTE (Full-time equivalent)
