AddressHolsworthy High School is in the Liverpool Area of Southwest Sydney and has 654 students. The school has a diverse multicultural community, with 51 EAL/D students and 43 Aboriginal students. Holsworthy High School also has 57 students from Defence Force families who are well supported by a Defence School Mentor (DSM). A Special Education unit caters for students with a mild intellectual disability (IM) and autism (AU). There is a very well established and effective Community of Schools group with high quality joint programs. There is a firm commitment from the leadership of all four schools to develop and extend this partnership.
The school is committed to a locally developed Learning Model that supports the department's priorities and reflects community aspirations. The model informs the teaching and learning practices of staff and students within the school.
Selection Criteria
- Approval to teach Music (MUS), Music Extensions 1 and 2 (MUE) and Entertainment Industry - General (VNG).
- Ability to establish and implement explicit teaching methods to support the learning of all students.
- Demonstrated capacity to effectively use technology to deliver high quality teaching and learning programs, lessons, and resources.
- Proven ability to use effective classroom management skills and wellbeing practices to create a classroom environment that is engaging, inclusive and fosters a culture of high expectations.
- Demonstrated capacity to contribute to whole-school initiatives.
Conditions
An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.
