About the role
TAFE Gippsland are seeking applications from suitably qualified and experienced industry experts to join us in either a full time or part time capacity. These roles involve providing teaching delivery and assessment to our Certificates II, III & IV in Agriculture and Diploma of Agriculture Students and present an exciting opportunity to join our TAFE Gippsland Agriculture teaching team based at our Baw Baw Skill Centre or our Sale Campus.
As a teacher, you will play a key role in developing current industry course materials, delivery high quality training and assessment, and completing education administration responsibilities. Your guidance and support will be integral in equipping students with the skills and knowledge necessary for a successful career in the agriculture industry.
As an industry expert your current skills, hands-on experience, and enthusiasm for passing on knowledge to the next generation of agricultural professionals is vital to our students success and outcomes.
About you
You are a dedicated, energetic, and driven professional in the agricultural industry, equipped with a broad range of experience spanning various agricultural practices. Your expertise includes grazing management, pasture-based agronomy, animal health, livestock husbandry and feeding, milking operations, and farm business management. Your confidence and proactive approach are complemented by excellent interpersonal and communication skills, enabling you to establish and maintain relationships both with students and industry stakeholders.
You possess high-level ICT skills, a comprehensive understanding of training packages, and a keen awareness of compliance and quality requirements. You enjoy collaborating with others and working as part of a team. You can demonstrate prior experience in training, mentoring, and providing support to trainees and apprentices in the workplace. Your passion for the agricultural industry is evident in your commitment to imparting knowledge and fostering growth of the next generation in the industry.
Qualifications and experience
- Minimum Certificate IV in Agriculture or related studies
- Minimum 5 years’ experience working in the agricultural industry (farming or service provider)
- Certificate IV in Training & Assessment (TAE40122 or equivalent)
(if not held on commencement, qualification must be completed within agreed timeframe)
Mandatory requirements
- Current Victorian Working with Children Clearance
- Current Police Check (no older than 12 months old)
- A valid COVID-19 Vaccination Certificate
- Current Driver’s Licence
If you currently don’t hold the minimum required teaching qualification, yet you have extensive industry experience and associated qualifications, TAFE Gippsland will consider your application, but you must meet all other criteria shown in the Job Description.
