About Us:
Warwick East State School is situated on picturesque, spacious grounds that include extensive playground equipment under shade, spacious playing fields, practice cricket pitch, multi-purpose courts and an undercover play/learning area.
Situated in the eastern suburbs of Warwick on the Condamine River, our school provides a co-educational primary education from prep to year 6 for about 240 students from Warwick and the surrounding rural area.
The Warwick East State School facilities are comprised of primary, special education unit and prep facilities on one campus.
The school has a long history dating back to 1850, making it the oldest school in Queensland. The National School building, one of the original buildings is heritage listed.
About the Role:
Responsibilities include, but not limited to;
* Assisting teaching staff with playground supervision
* Communicating effectively and displaying high levels of interpersonal skills to function as an effective team member.
* Support students through interaction with them in a variety of settings and through the active development of supportive learning environments and effective behaviour management practices.
* Assisting students with special needs, this may extend to moving disabled pupils, assisting with positioning, assisting with meals, toileting and dressing of pupils unable to care for themselves.
* Displaying respect and empathy for students with high level needs and confidentiality, tact, reliability and sensitively to students and their families.
* Conducting reading groups, maths groups, art activities, and sports activities, including the gathering of applicable resources, in cooperation with teachers.
