About the role 

The Teacher Coach works closely with teachers and principals in schools to support their delivery of the tailored implementation plan. The Teacher Coach reports to the School Improvement Coach or Manager of School Partnerships. 

Duties 

• Provide Teachers and Principals with training and coaching to successfully deliver their tailored implementation plan.  
• Develop tailored implementation plans with school leaders. 
• Participate with the project team in improving school implementations. 
• Train and coach Teachers in being Instructional Leaders.  
• Mentor and advise Teachers and Principals on issues they are struggling to resolve.  
• Support Teachers through non-technical issues and dealing with principals’ program outcomes. 

Essential criteria 

• Leadership experience within primary or secondary. 
• Minimum 5 years teaching experience. 
• Demonstrated coaching and mentoring skills. 
• Demonstrated ability to develop strong professional relationships with school leaders and teaching staff. 
• Demonstrated commitment to the values, practices, and work approach of Good to Great Schools Australia. 

Required 

• Relevant Working with Children check in any of the Australian states or territories (or if successful provide evidence of obtaining/applying prior to commencement). 
• Evidence of a current valid driver licence. 
• Evidence of a successfully completed valid Police Check. 

Desirable criteria  

• Have led school improvement across schools 
• Consultation experience advising schools. 
• Demonstrated knowledge or practice of explicit instruction.  
• Understanding of the political and legal framework in which private, public, and independent schools and the organisation operate. 
• Experience of working in a business or community environment.
