Job description

Advertised Vacancy Number: SS/TCH902688

This is a permanent, part-time (0.7FTE) position commencing Term 3, 2024

Bullsbrook Community Kindergarten is seeking a highly dedicated, motivated, and enthusiastic Early Childhood Education Teacher to join their team. There is a possibility that FTE may increase depending on school circumstances.

A Community Kindergarten is a Kindergarten that operates in a purpose-built building that is not located on the school site. They offer an alternative to school-based onsite Kindergartens for children who turn four years of age by 30 June in the year they attend.

The management of a Community Kindergarten is shared between the Parent Management Committee and the Kindergarten Teacher, who work very closely together. The Community Kindergarten’s teacher and program are under the authority of the Department of Education and the Principal at the local linked school, being Bullsbrook College, as the line manager.

As a teacher at our Kindergarten, you would have the opportunity to work collaboratively with a Parent Committee and liaise with stakeholders, including the linked school (Bullsbrook College) and the City of Swan.

The successful applicant will ideally be an independent and proactive provider of innovative teaching and learning programs that nurture and inspire students. Knowledge of explicit Phonemic Awareness and Phonics teaching is highly advantageous. As the Kindergarten teacher, you should display a play-based approach and a good understanding of how to establish a positive classroom environment, fostering high care and expectations. Ideally, you will have a strong understanding of the Western Australian Curriculum, National Quality Standards and Early Years Learning Frameworks.

Bullsbrook Community Kindergarten is located in Bullsbrook. The grounds are large, and the outside play area is extensive, surrounded by large, shaded trees, sand pits, climbing frames, cubby house and slides.

At Bullsbrook we believe that every child has the right to the best possible education, and the educational process is best served when the school, the child, the teacher, and the parent/carer work together in a positive way to support learning. Our school connects with the wider community by establishing strong partnerships to support our school.

This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur throughout our school for up to 12 months following this initial appointment.
