Sefton High School (enrolment 1090 including 95% from non-English-speaking background) is a co-educational, academically selective school with a parallel community stream intake. The school is characterised by a focus of high expectations of all students and staff. Quality, evidence-based teaching and learning in a highly structured, disciplined learning environment permeates the school which is recognised and supported by the community. This results in students demonstrating excellent standards of attendance, academic achievement, conduct and personal growth. Selection Criteria
Approval to teach English (7-12), English Extensions 1 & 2 and Society and Culture.
Highly developed interpersonal, communication and organisational skills to build positive relationships with teachers, students, parents and the community.
Ability to develop, implement and evaluate differentiated programs, resources and assessments that contribute to a culture of high expectations.
Demonstrated commitment to working collaboratively within an experienced, cohesive faculty on whole school and faculty initiatives that meet the learning needs of a diverse range of students, including public speaking and debating.
Conditions
An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.
