Position Information
Sydney Childrens Hospital School is a K–12 SSP operating within the Sydney Children's Hospital Network. The Hospital School is committed to providing the continuity of quality education for students through strong partnerships with students, parents and census schools, and leading excellence in future-focused teaching, personalised learning and strong coordinated health and education transition planning. Our purpose is to ensure an equitable education service that aims to; eliminate gaps in education and wellbeing, engage students in meaningful learning and lead the educational adjustments needed to facilitate and interpret student health status and treatment plans. The vastly different needs of students, based on their health needs and enrolment patterns, require differentiated methods of education delivery. Personalisation of learning plays a critical role in ensuring every young person who engages with the Hospital School is provided with the educational experience that meets their learning, well-being and social needs, as well as acute and chronic health needs. Likewise, the enrolment variability of students requires teaching staff to develop a personal learning pathway appropriate to the student's age, curriculum access point and projected enrolment period.
