Reporting to the Head of Department, we invite applicants who will contribute to our Christian ethos to teach English and improve student learning within that subject area, with specialist skills and abilities in Literature and Christian Studies, highly desirable.
Position type: Part-time (0.7-0.8 FTE), fixed term six (6) week contract, Tuesday 16 May 2023 – Friday 23 June 2023 with the possibility of connecting to a Semester 2, 2023 English and Social Science teaching position at our Caboolture Campus.
Anticipated Commencement Date: Tuesday 16 May 2023
About You
This position would suit someone with a commitment to the ethos, Christian values and teachings of the College. The suitable candidate will also have:
Demonstrated ability to teach Year 11 and 12 QCAA English and/or Literature syllabi
Demonstrated ability to teach Year 7 – 10 English
Demonstrated ability to teach Year 9 Christian Studies
Accredited teacher with Lutheran Education Australia, highly desirable
Preference for experienced teachers, gifted and talented training highly desirable
Ability to teach in another area could be an advantage
Willingness to assist with GEL – Grow, Empower, Learn (student holistic care program), GEL lessons, Chapel supervision, Inter-School sporting teams or recreational activities
Demonstrated knowledge of contemporary curriculum issues in English education
Awareness of National curriculum imperatives
