About the role

TAFE NSW is looking for a suitability qualified, experienced, and passionate subject matter expert in Information Technology. This position will oversee the Higher Education program being offered at Liverpool, you’ll have the opportunity to share your industry knowledge and expertise with an engaged student cohort. You will become part of a highly driven and successful team who work collaboratively to achieve students’ success.

About You

To succeed in the role, you will be aware of current industry requirements and have a willingness to continue to obtain industry knowledge. You have the drive and engagement to share your knowledge and expertise within the industry with a diverse range of students. You will have excellent communication skills with the ability to share information with your peers and students face to face and when required, connected learning platforms.

We recognise that real experience is the most important aspect when appointing our teaching staff, we know that this experience, your creditability and your story will have a positive impact, to generate the passion needed by our students to see their qualification through.

You will have:

  • Masters (AQF 9) or above in Information Technology
  • Minimum of three years post-qualification experience in industry relevant to your qualifications, gained no longer than five years previously.
  • Be prepared to continue to develop their knowledge and skills as well as their currency in their relevant discipline.
  • Commitment and ability to facilitate learning in an adult environment and demonstrated organisational skills applicable to an educational setting.
  • Demonstrated commitment to quality customer service and demonstrated ability to contribute in a team environment.
  • Proven strengths in problem solving and change management.

Highly regarded:

  • Commit to obtaining a TAE within 18 months of employment.
  • Experience in teaching.
  • High level project and time management skills ability to work with minimal supervision, manage time and meet competing deadlines effectively.
  • Industry certifications – for example CISCO, Microsoft, AWS.
  • Established links with outside organisations / professional associations that are of benefit to TAFE NSW HE.
  • Relevant and current (within the last 18 months) professional and practical experience in Information Technology in the areas of Networking, Network Automation, Cyber Security, Programming, Data Analysis, Machine Learning, Data Engineering, Computer and Network Forensics, and Cloud Computing.
