Pingelly Primary School (PS) are seeking a passionate, hardworking Primary Teacher to join their regional school.

The successful applicant should pursue excellence in teaching and learning and have a willingness to support the implementation of whole school approaches. Our instructional model has explicit teaching at its core and encompasses evidence based whole school approaches in the teaching of synthetic phonics, comprehension, mathematics, and writing across the entire school.
The successful applicant will be innovative and systematic in their approach, using high impact teaching strategies and targeted differentiation (Tier 2 interventions) in literacy, numeracy, and social and emotional learning areas. Experience with the following whole school programs is favourable but not essential - InitiaLit,, Seven Steps to Writing Success, Berry Street and Zones of Regulation.
About the school
Pingelly PS is located 160 kilometres south-east of Perth. Students from Kindergarten to Year 6 are drawn from the rural community and from the town itself. Thirty percent of the school's students are Aboriginal. Student numbers may increase as families are drawn to Pingelly 'lifestyle' opportunities and the nearby mining venture in Boddington.
Stable experienced staff are committed to a 'Working in Teams' approach to deliver an inclusive and balanced curriculum which addresses the diverse needs of our students. A comprehensive pastoral care system supported by the Grass Roots Foundation is embedded in the operations of the school. Various extension programs are offered to our students in Photography in connection to Desert Light Foundation, Writing and Mathematics. The school has strong collaborative partnerships with parents and the wider community.
This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur throughout our school for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position.
To be suitable for this role, you will need to demonstrate your competency against the following domains (that govern the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers):
- Professional knowledge;
- Professional practice; and
- Professional engagement.
