Braddock Public School has a current enrolment of 328 students, including 30% who identify as Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander and 9% from a language background other than English. The school has 5 support classes – an autism class, three multi-categorical classes and a class for students with a mild intellectual disability.

Inclusivity and equity are of paramount importance at Braddock Public School and we pride ourselves on knowing all students and ensuring their individual academic, social, emotional and behavioural needs are met. A culture of 'every student is everyone's responsibility' is highly valued by staff and the community. Visible learning and a culture of growth mindset are embedded across the school.  The school has a mix of both early career teachers to more experienced staff.

Aboriginal programs and perspectives are embedded throughout the school, led by a highly dedicated Aboriginal Education Team. Positive Behaviour for Learning, Trauma Informed Practices and a high functioning Learning and Support Team drive wellbeing practices. Staff are highly collaborative and supportive. Braddock Public School has strong relationships with external service providers to support families. Clear and consistent communication between school and home is a valued priority.

1. Approval to teach special education and/or experience in teaching students with behaviour difficulties, emotional disturbance, autism, moderate and mild intellectual disabilities.

 2. Ability to deliver high quality, differentiated literacy and numeracy programs embedding Aboriginal and Torres Strait Island culture and perspectives across multistage classes using evidence-based and data informed practice.

3. Demonstrated ability to implement strong classroom management skills incorporating trauma informed practices, to create a positive classroom environment with the consistent application of inclusive wellbeing practices, to cater for a diverse range of students.

4. Highly developed communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work as part of a collaborative team and build positive relationships with students, staff, parents/carers, external agencies, and members of the wider community.

An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.
