Hampden Park Public School is a large primary school of approximately 800 student enrolments in the south west Sydney suburb of Lakemba. Our community represents over 40 nationalities with 99% of students coming from non-English speaking backgrounds. There are 13% of students with refugee status or refugee-like experiences. Our main community languages are Urdu, Bangla, Arabic and Indonesian.
The school provides excellent education for all students from Kindergarten to Year 6 and we have four support classes. Our dedicated and enthusiastic staff focus on ongoing professional development and improvement, engage in distributed leadership practices and contribute to a culture of high expectations to ensure the best education for each student. We actively seek student and parent voice in building a positive school community. - Approval to teach special education and/or experience teaching students with complex needs such as moderate intellectual disabilities, autism, behavioural difficulties and emotional disturbance.
- Demonstrated ability to design, deliver and evaluate evidence-based teaching practices that respond to students' social, emotional, personal and academic learning needs.
- Demonstrated ability to utilise student assessment and other data to develop, implement and evaluate differentiated and innovative individual learning and behaviour response management plans
- Highly developed communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively in a variety of teams and build strong and inclusive relationships with parents and members of the wider school community.
