Young High School is a rural comprehensive High School located in Wiradjuri Country approximately under 4 hours south west of Sydney and under 2 hours from Canberra and Wagga Wagga. We have a strong focus on academic growth and developing resilience, empathy, acceptance and teamwork across the school community. The school has an enrolment of 530 students from diverse cultural backgrounds, including 13% Aboriginal students and an increasing Muslim student enrolment which is currently 8%. In addition, we have a support unit consisting of 5 support multicategorical (MC) classes. The school works closely with the local community.
- Approval and/or experience in teaching Autism and/ or Behaviour Difficulties and/ or Mild Intellect Disability and/ or Moderate Intellect Disability and/ or Emotional Disturbance.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with all key stakeholders to meet the needs of a support classroom with a range of student abilities.
- Highly developed communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively, proactively and professionally with colleagues, parents and carers, SLSO staff, support agencies and the wider community.
