Advertised Vacancy Number: IPS/TCH882176This is a six (6) month, full time position commencing Term 2, 2024 with possible extension and/or permanency.Teachers and school administrators employed at Hedland Senior High School in 2024 are eligible to receive an Attraction and Retention Incentive of $10,000 (pa, gross – to be adjusted pro rata for FTE and tenure). Eligible staff will receive a percentage of this payment on commencement at the school, with the remainder paid at the end of the school year. Staff must remain employed in the location until the end of the school year to be eligible to receive the second payment.The ARI payment is in addition to other incentives that may apply in this school.Are you looking for an ocean outback adventure, whilst working in a highly supportive and collaborative learning environment?Hedland Senior High School (SHS) is seeking two (2) passionate and innovative Student Engagement and Support Leader in Student Support Services.The RoleThe Teacher – Student Engagement and Support ensures all students are supported in their schooling with a particular focus on academic, emotional, behavioural and cognitive engagement. With effective communication, and liaison with both internal and external stakeholders, the successful applicants will be responsible for building and maintaining strong rapport and relationships with students, staff, and parents/caregivers. A focus of the role is on case management and wellbeing support.Under the guidance of the Program Coordinator – Student Support, the Teacher – Student Engagement and Support, will operate in a fast-paced and responsive work environment. The successful applicants would ideally be exceptionally organised - keeping accurate records and analyse system and school data to inform future practices. Using Student Attendance Reporting (SAR), Compass Chronicle and Attendance modules, amongst other data tools, the Teacher – Student Engagement and Support will implement social and emotional learning programs.As a culturally responsive teacher, with a high emotional intelligence, the Teacher – Student Engagement and Support would provide mentorship for students with complex behavioural and emotional support needs.
