About the role
The role of a Team Leader could be the next step in your career within Aged Care. In this dual role you will perform frontline field duties 60% of the time (Personal / Domestic Care Assistance and Driving) while also working closely with your Team Manager to provide exceptional training and support to other frontline staff for the remaining 40% of your role.
What will this look like on a day to day basis?
You will be:
- Providing leadership support to new and existing team members by following a structured onboarding process and buddy program, mentoring, coaching and providing technical support
- Recording and maintaining team members’ compliance records, feedback and incident reports and scheduling training
- Providing other administrative support to the Team Manager, e.g., preparation of meetings or pay runs
- Engaging with and seeking feedback from team members about their roles and the support received
- Provide quality, direct personal care services to clients including personal care, domestic assistance, social support and transport
- Promoting a high performing culture with the commitment to quality and service excellence

- Permanent full-time position (76 hours per fortnight)
- You may be required to use your private vehicle for work purposes, with kilometre-reimbursement offered
- Paid compliance checks including NDIS Worker Screening, Working with Children Check and a QLD Restricted Driver's Authority
What skills and experience do you need to be a Team Leader?
This position is best suited to someone who has:
- Certificate III qualification i.e. Individual Support, Aged Care, Community Services
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with clients and team members
- Leadership aspirations and desire to grow and develop leadership skills
- Has genuine empathy with elderly clients and a passion to work within the community service industry
- A sound understanding and commitment to working within professional boundaries and the Aged Care Quality Standards
- Understanding of, and willingness to develop an appreciation of, specialised service delivery within diverse groups, specifically Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander, CALD, Veterans, Disability, Mental Health, LGBTI+ and Homelessness
