What you will do
As our Team Leader, Finance and Procurement, you will:
- Provide strong leadership by guiding, developing and supporting a high performing finance team by fostering ongoing professional development, information
- Develop, maintain and enhance constructive and collaborative working partnerships and relationships with clients and stakeholders.
- Provide expert advice to the Manager, Business Services and other senior officers regarding financial performance, accountability and transparency, governance and compliance.
- Provide high-level advice on complex finance matters and respond to urgent requests for information e.g., Briefing notes, Ministerials, Budget submissions, Estimates etc.
- Ensure all financial processes including budgeting, reporting and procurement are undertaken in accordance with statutory requirements and completed in an accurate and timely manner.
- Ensure all financial management policies, standards, guidelines and practices are current and adhered to and specialised support and training provided as required.
- Ensure financial risk mitigation strategies and internal controls are developed, monitored and remedial actions are promptly addressed.
- Ensure the accurate and timely collection, preparation and or submission of movement and lead schedules, reconciliations, journals, monthly financial management reports and other periodic or ad hoc financial reports and documents as required.
- Lead and manage the delivery of quality Procurement services to the Agriculture business group.
- Actively participate and lead business improvement activities including provision of expert analysis, reviews, forecasting, modelling and high-level advice to enhance finance related services and procurement activities.
- Identify, implement, monitor, and promote innovative and contemporary financial systems, procedures and technologies.
You may have
- While accounting qualifications are not mandatory, the possession of a relevant degree and membership of CPA Australia, the Institute of Chartered Accountants Australia (ICAA), or MIPA status with the Institute of Public Accountants (IPA) would be considered to be highly desirable given the technical nature of this role.
- A procurement certification is also desirable.
