The roleAre you a seasoned procurement professional with a background in Local Government? CBCity has an exciting opportunity for someone ready to embrace the next step in their career to join our Procurement Unit as the Team Leader Procurement. Leading a team of 4 staff, you will coordinate the end-to-end procurement service for Council’s resource requirements, per legislative and governance requirements.
Duties will include but not be limited to: Lead the proactive development, implementation and review of policies, procedures, systems and performance management frameworks for all procurement related activity across Council. Lead and manage all formal procurement activities including the development of relevant approach-to-market strategies, documentation that is fit-for-purpose and risk considered decision making. Provide sound advice to key stakeholders on all aspects of the procurement function to encourage innovative practices, good probity, achieve delivery of business outcomes and support policy directions.
Effectively manage procurement risk and ensure Council’s procurement activities comply with the Local Government Act 1993, other relevant legislation/regulations, and Council’s procurement procedures. Oversee and lead large value, high risk procurement transactions. Encourage continuous improvement, drive purchasing behavioural change and promote innovation.
*For a full list of duties, click here to review the position description. You will have Tertiary qualifications in business, procurement and supply chain management or other related discipline. Current NSW C Class drivers’ licence.
Extensive experience in coordinating major tenders/contracts and leading, developing and managing a procurement team. Wide experience at a senior level in managing and completing high volumes of procurement transactions, business planning, budgeting, cost control and performance management systems and principles. Strong leadership skills with a proven ability to model Council values and desired behaviours.
The salary range for this opportunity starts at $118,408 (Grade J, Step 1) 11% super. Salary may be negotiable dependent on skills and experience. Click here to access salary information for all steps within the designated Grade.
