We find ways to make people's lives better.About the role - Full-Time maximum term contract until 13 July 2025Baptist Care SA provides long term Residential Care support to children and young people who are under the guardianship of the Chief Executive. Our focus is to ensure our children and young people are living in safe, secure, and stable long term out of home care placements, where they can thrive and flourish. Our team are trained in advanced trauma informed practice to enable us to provide therapeutic and trauma informed care to our young people.You will provide strong leadership, regular supervision and support to House Leads, Support Workers, and therapeutic care for Young People. You'll form strong networks with relevant stakeholders and services to promote client outcomes, driving improvements, promoting stability, and ensuring quality care with the Baptist Care SA Tapa Marnini-apinthi Practice Framework.Working as part of a group of Team Leaders, you'll join a positive, supportive, and passionate group of professionals who are focused on ensuring Young People thrive.Key responsibilities will include, but will not be limited to:
  • Providing clinical supervision to your team
  • Understanding and implementing Out of Home Care Legislation
  • Utilising and promoting a client centred, strength based, therapeutic approach to the care of Young People
  • Building and developing strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Administrative tasks such as reporting, data entry and rostering
  • Ensuring a continuous improvement mindset is utilised to ensure best practice within your team and the wider Baptist Care SA Care Pathways service offering
About you:As an experienced leader, you are able to inspire, lead and motivate your team, and those around you. You thrive in a dynamic and diverse environment. Your passion is to ensure your team are in the best position possible to care for Young People through embedding a client centred, strength-based approach.You will also have the following skills and experience:
  • Bachelor Degree in Social Work, Social Sciences, Counselling or Psychology (or equivalent)
  • Demonstrated experience in leadership and people management
  • The ability to be self-motivated and proactive
  • The ability to work well autonomously and within a team environment
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build and develop relationships and rapport
  • The ability to handle multiple priorities
  • High levels of emotional intelligence, the ability to handle highly pressurised situations calmly and practice self-care
Specific Requirements:Baptist Care SA is committed to the safety and protection of all children and vulnerable people and as such applicants will be considered in accordance with our safety practices and suitability.You will be required to have, or be willing to obtain:
  • Full unrestricted South Australia Driver's Licence
  • Working With Children Check
  • NDIS Worker Screening
  • National Police Clearance
  • A Successful Psychological Suitability Assessment in accordance with Department of Child Protection requirements
  • Training: Provide First Aid (HLTAID011)
  • Training: Safe Environments for Children and Young People (Through Their Eyes)
  • Ability to work outside of normal office hours may be required
  • A fully insured and roadworthy compliant vehicle (roadworthy check required)
