About the RoleReporting to the Residential Care Supervisors, you will facilitate the day-to-day operations of one Residential Care placement allocated to you. This role operates in a hybrid model, meaning you will work 2 out of the 5 days as a Youth Worker and the remaining days as the Team Lead, offering moderate-level supervision to the team within the placement and being the first point of contact for senior management.
You will support the delivery of high-quality therapeutic care services and ensure that every child or young person placed into the care of the Foundation feels safe, nurtured, and heard.

- Develop Personal Development Plans on a 12-month basis for staff.
- Support the coordination of ongoing rosters.
- Assist in the management and reporting of risks and concerns to relevant reporting bodies.
- Monitor and report on residential services, including budgets and records to the supervisor.
- Provide and maintain safe work environments as required by both policy and legislation.
Our Team Lead role is the equivalent of a Senior Youth Worker, with higher duty delegation and low-level supervisory responsibility. You will remain an integral part of the team, maintaining youth work duties, however, provide oversight of the placement to assist with the supervisory duties of senior management.
About YouWe are looking for engaging, energetic, and passionate people who show a strong commitment to the overall support of children and young people. Showing initiative and being confident in your own skills and abilities will allow you to thrive in what can be a challenging environment. Be the captain of your own team and lead with openness, integrity, and equity to ensure you’re providing the best care and support to the children and young people in residence.
You will also bring:
- Experience in the delivery of Residential Care services.
- Sound knowledge of the child protection system in South Australia
- Experience in working with children and young people to address the impacts of trauma.
- Ability to demonstrate leadership values, including conflict resolution.
- Continuous improvement mindset.
