We are seeking an experienced and motivated Risk and AuditTeam Leader to be an integral member of our Strategy and Performance team. Working across our large and multi-faceted council, you will embed contemporary Risk and assurance practices and be a tangible influence on culture through your ability to build constructive relationships and provide excellent customer service. Key responsibilities of the position include:
- Leads the implementation of Council’s Enterprise Risk Management Framework as an integrated element of Council’s strategic planning and operational management, ensuring that organisational risk is understood and effectively managed.
- Develops, maintains and monitors Council’s Enterprise Risk Management Framework, including the strategic and operational risk registers.
- Manages Council’s internal controls and ensure regular reviews are undertaken.
- In conjunction with the Manager Strategy and Performance leads and manages the Internal Audit Program.
- Develops and maintains Council’s business continuity, incident and emergency management arrangements.
- Leads and manages Council’s claims and insurance portfolio.
The successful applicant will have:
- Degree or post-graduate studies business management, corporate governance and/or related fields (or equivalent experience)
- Professional accreditation, for example certification from the Risk Management Institute of Australasia (highly desirable)
- Several years demonstrated experience in governance functions related to risk, audit, internal controls environments using contemporary methodology and practices.
- Demonstrated experience working as a member of a multi-disciplinary team and as a trusted internal consultant enabling innovation and business value creation.
- Experience in leading a small team.

This is a Level 7 position which has a current salary range of $120483 - $128062 (plus Super).
