About the opportunity
Join our Active and Connected Communities business unit as a Team LeaderSport & Active Recreation Development. This role provides a unique opportunity to lead and manage our recreation reserves and leisure facilities. This role will enhance community participation in sport and Active Recreation by supporting our local sporting clubs, reserve committees and partners to offer quality and equitable participation opportunities and facilities to our community.
You will make an impact by
- Overseeing the effective management and maintenance of sport and Active Recreation reserves and aquatic facilities to maximise community participation.
- Leading the preparation and management of usage agreements for our sport and Active Recreation reserves, contracts, and tender specifications for leisure and aquatic facilities.
- Developing and implementing strategic plans for aquatic and leisure facilities to meet current and future community needs.
- Facilitating the provision of high-quality wet and dry leisure facilities, catering to the diverse needs of the Cardinia community.
- Providing ongoing support and guidance to sport and Active Recreation reserve committees to enhance the quality of facilities and services.
- Identifying and engaging key stakeholders, fostering strong relationships to increase participation and access to sport and Active Recreation initiatives.
What you will bring
- Extensive experience in managing sport and Active Recreation reserves, aquatic, and leisure facilities.
- Demonstrated leadership abilities with a proven track record of inspiring and developing a team.
- Advanced skills in contract management and governance.
- Exceptional strategic planning and organisational skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to prepare comprehensive reports and presentations.
- Proven ability to build and maintain positive relationships with community groups, council partners, and other stakeholders in a complex, political environment.
