Team Leader

About the role
In partnership with the Australian Defence Force, Ventia is seeking a Team Leader to join the National Clothing Store Services team in Townsville at the Lavarack barracks.
The Team Leader is responsible for supporting and supervising Stores Service staff - level 1 and 2, under guidance and direction from the Site Leader. You are responsible for under-studying and supporting the Site Leader in all operations of the site. Working Monday to Friday this role is a full-time opportunity.
The Stores Services department stores and distributes Defence Force clothing for serving Defence personnel. Staff work under general supervision, either individually or in a team environment, performing a variety of tasks requiring a knowledge of customer support, warehousing/stores practices and procedures.
Duties
Support and supervision of subordinate staff under guidance and direction from the Site Leader
Act as Site Leader in their absence
Warehousing / stores duties performed at Store
Applies judgement, initiative and flexibility to resolve problems / challenges within the area of responsibility
Apply and uphold Quality control standards and procedures
Supply Customer Account Management
Developed and applied knowledge of ESCM and Defence related logistic policies
Interpret customer entitlements from various Defence entitlement tables
Coordinate work of individual or small teams within the site
Training staff including the provision of on-the-job training and employee inductions
Allocation of duties and supervision of staff Preparing staff rosters
Raising applicable reports Conduct internal governance and audits of other sites
Interprets and applies policies, procedures and regulations
Qualifications, Skills and Experience
Prior experience managing/supporting staff
Prior demonstrated experience as a store / warehouse attendant
Good customer service skills
High standard of Interpersonal and communication skills
Computer competent
Experience in applicable Defence and Broadspectrum systems including DTP/ MILIS/ PIMS/SAP skills highly desirable
Must be eligible to hold a Defence Security Clearance and therefore must be an Australian Citizen
