Waverley is a diverse and innovative Council located in the heart of Sydney's Eastern Suburbs. With a broad range of services, programs and initiatives, Waverley is one of the leading local government areas in NSW. Taking in some of Sydney's most beautiful beaches including the world famous Bondi Beach, and encompassing part of Sydney's global economic corridor at Bondi Junction, Waverley Council is an amazing place to broaden your career.
Waverley’s cemeteries are treasured and historically rich places amongst our community. We began burials in the 1860s and have been taking care of our community since. Given its location, the cemetery has since its early days been popular as a final resting place for Sydney’s political, business and cultural leaders, although the many grand monuments mingle with those from the broader community.
In this role, you will engage in a diverse range of duties to provide high quality cemetery service delivery. You will be responsible for ground care, maintenance, burials, and safe preparation of grave sites. The nature of the role will also require Team Members to support bereaved family and friends in a sensitive and caring manner.
To be successful you will have demonstrated experience in interacting with the public in a courteous and professional manner. You will also have demonstrated experience and skills in an operational service and maintenance environment with the ability to operate small machinery. You will also be physically fit, able to apply manual handling techniques and have an enjoyment for working outdoors.
Please refer to the position description for detailed information on the position and required skills and experience. For more information contact Ken Shelston on 0406816115.
