About the Role
Reporting to the Team Leader Civil Construction, the key responsibility of the role is to actively support the Civil Construction Team assisting with the delivery of Council’s unsealed road capital program. The team, consisting of four employees, constructs approximately 50km of road per annum which equates to 70,000t of rubble added to Council’s Road network.
If you are an experienced Civil Construction operator with a HC Truck Licence (HR licence will be considered) and a desire to apply your Civil Construction skills to maintain council’s capital works program in a community focused environment, you may be well-suited for this position.
Key areas of responsibility include:
- Supporting the delivery of Council’s civil capital works program (rural re-sheeting)
- Assisting with the maintenance of Council’s stormwater drainage and general maintenance
- Truck driving duties (watercart and rubble cartage)
- Carrying out maintenance and minor repairs on plant and equipment
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- An experienced Civil Construction operator with a HC Truck Licence (HR licence will be considered)
- Certificate III in Civil Construction or equivalent fields, (highly desirable)
- Relevant tickets for earthmoving plant and equipment (highly desirable)
- Experience in Water Cart, Grader, or Roller Operations
- Knowledge of WHS systems including SWMS, JSI’s, SWI’s and PPE requirements
- Ability to work in a team environment that promotes continuous improvement and comradery with a strong focus on achieving community expectations

This role is based at Freeling, approximately an hour’s drive from the Adelaide CBD with great connectors such as the Northern Expressway, Gawler Bypass, and the Thiele Highway, it is an easy and enjoyable drive.
