GPC Distribution Centre Broadmeadows - Team Member – Flow Controller – Full Time
About the Role:
- You will be responsible for ensuring that the GTP (Goods to Person) operates with optimal productivity & efficiency across release of orders, carton erector, picking, QA and labelling. Balance ASR and EMR picking to ensure EMR orders are available for departure time.
- Initial point of escalation for Team Members when issues occur on the GTP. Responsible for resolving minor issues– any issue that does not require tools to fix.
- Normal Team Member duties across inbound, pick, put away and despatch would also be incorporated should there be no flow issues with the automation.
What the role involves:
- Work closely with SSi RM
- Set the cuby up to enable operations to start working at full efficiency from start of shift – initial release of orders, heating glue up, resolution of any minor issues
- Enter the cuby to resolve alignment and tote issues – no tools needed
- Monitor Lighthouse to identify issues.
- Observe and listen to the cuby to identify any changes in performance and highlight to SSi RM
- Develop high-level understanding of how the mechanical/electrical and software components of the SSi solution work, to enable with identification of issues
- Release orders (carton and tote) to ensure orders are available for departure time, and workload is consistent for pickers at pick stations
- Monitor WAMAS for any GTP orders that are not releasing, and resolve any issues
- Monitor staging lanes and sort lanes to ensure ability for orders to release
- Monitor QA and provide insight to inventory
About You:
- Strong knowledge towards machinery and automation
- Computer savvy
- Ability to work independently towards an outcome.
- Strong problem-solving skills, with ability to apply these in a situation.
- Ability to follow a process consistently.
- Curiosity to understand and improve how we operate the GTP
- Good communication skills
- Good level of physical capability and comfort in confined spaces – there are ladders to access the front of the GTP, and this person will be required to enter the CUBY
