The day to day
ALS Geochemistry in Kalgoorlie is seeking a Technical Clerical Assistant to support the operations of a fast-paced minerals preparation and analytical laboratory.
This is a Full-Time position, and the role’s primary function is to provide data entry services utilising the company’s Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS). However, the successful applicant will be required to undertake other duties as required and within their capabilities.
Hands-on training will be provided in various areas of the laboratory and preparation sections to gain an understanding of the operations of the facilities.
The successful applicant will be required to work on a 4 days Day shift (from 6 am to 4 pm), 4 days Afternoon shift (from 12 pm to 10 pm), and 4 days off roster.
This is a residential role, and you must be residing or planning on relocating to the Kalgoorlie Boulder Region with current Australian work rights to be considered.
The essentials
- Good alpha/numeric skills
- Strong language skills and the ability to communicate effectively with internal and external clients
- Computer skills, and experience with Excel, Word, and OneNote
- Strong attention to detail with a proven ability to collect, interpret and manage data efficiently and accurately
- Experience within a laboratory environment would be advantageous and highly regarded
- Geology, Chemistry, or Earth Science qualifications would be desirable
- A proven ability to retain large amounts of information is essential
- A hands-on attitude to a variety of tasks
- Customer service experience or aptitude
- Well presented with a friendly team manner
- Reliable, and flexible with working hours as business needs dictate from time to time
- Experience within a laboratory environment would be advantageous and highly regarded
- Be able to work to deadlines and within a team
