These newly created positions support our growth plans as we continue to deliver transformative projects in the health and life sciences industry. At WSP you’ll find the scale and reach you need to do the kind of work the world needs – and the culture and people that make it the best work of your life.

About our team

Our Property and Buildings (Building Services) team is a community of built environment experts, driven by a passion to create sustainable, accessible, and resilient communities. Through powerful partnerships and multidisciplinary collaboration, we design places to deliver social, environmental and financial value for clients around our changing world.

What you’ll do

As a Technical Executive and Market Sector Lead in Healthcare, you will play a pivotal role in driving technical excellence and managing the successful delivery of major healthcare projects. You will also possess strong people leadership skills and have a reputable presence within the Health & Life Sciences industry.

We seek candidates with demonstrable project experience across a range of disciplines (Mechanical, Electrical, Hydraulics, Fire, ESD, and/or Specialist Services), established connections, and proven experience managing complex designs across various healthcare projects.

In this role, you will be responsible for:

  • Leading and overseeing the technical delivery of multidisciplinary healthcare projects
  • Collaborating with other Buildings & Property Technical Executives to provide strong technical and project delivery leadership for our national Building Services team, including strategic planning, resourcing, staff development and growth
  • Ensuring compliance with relevant design codes, legislation, and standards, and supporting engineers in developing their skills.
  • Engaging in a high level of collaboration with colleagues in the wider Australian and global Building Services teams, as well as with the broader business.
  • Working with the Healthcare National Executive to facilitate collaboration across the business, including Structural, Civil, and Specialist Services as required.
  • Actively participating, along with other leaders, in creating growth and business strategy, including involvement in key pursuits and projects
  • Driving client relationships and project outcomes through a deep understanding of market needs and a proven ability to achieve successful project management and delivery
  • Contributing to the growth of WSP’s complementary global resourcing centres in Manila for use on healthcare projects.
About you

As a natural leader, you will set a high calibre of technical and project management standard for our team, championing a robust safety culture and ensuring strict adherence to our policies and procedures. Your role will also entail cultivating, maintaining, and expanding client relationships while actively seeking new opportunities for growth.

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in professional service delivery, advisory or engineering field
  • Possess extensive experience in consulting within the Building Services industry, demonstrating a track record of successful technical leadership, project coordination and management and business development across large multidisciplinary projects, particular in healthcare, life sciences and pharmaceuticals.
  • Hold Chartered Engineer status with CPEng and/or state-based accreditation.
  • Excellent leadership skills and existing relationships with key health clients, contractors, and industry stakeholders
  • Proactive collaboration skills and a proven ability to work cross business to drive outstanding results.
  • Experience in driving business profit and loss outcomes as well as successful commercial positions on projects.
