Reporting to the Technology Operations Support Manager, the Technical Document Writeris responsible for developing and writing consistent, professional Standard Documentation used to support the execution teams to deliver a high standard of work. Aligning technology to the process used throughout WesTrac by teams executing their specific scopes of work, including Dealer Provided Options (DPO), IDS quoting, New Machines and technology installation work instructions.
Location: Perth Branch (Anderson Place - Perth Airport).
Roster: Monday - Friday, 8.5-hour days (Permanent Full-Time)
About the role:
- Create and develop Install Instructions and associated resource material in partnership with engineers and subject matter experts to support the Machine Control Guidance Technicians.
- Liaise and work effectively with departments and stakeholders to develop and write Technical Documentation.
- Digest technical information and transform that into content suitable for delivery to a wide range of audiences and learning capabilities, whilst maintaining the required technical competency to be delivered.
- Develop and maintain the Technical Documentation process to ensure maximum efficiency.
- Ensure all material developed is managed through the Technology Standard Works & Dealer Provided Option (DPO) workflow.
To be successful the following is required:
- Tertiary Qualification in Trade, TAFE or Engineering background is preferred.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office products.
- Previous experience in the field of technical writing/technical illustration
- In field experience installing, servicing, or maintaining Caterpillar MineStar equipment.
- Experience in the field of technical writing/technical illustration.
- Reading, interpretation and understanding of CAD drawings is preferred.
