We are currently seeking a Project Engineer - Track Renewals to join our Track Delivery Team within the Infrastructure Division.
Reporting to the Project Manager - Track Renewals, you will act as the technical specialist for the interpretation and communication of standards, offering an in-depth understanding of rail track specifications and impacts on the various discipline interfaces.
You'll harness your experience to advise on renewals "best practice", continually working with other team members to achieve efficient and safe renewals outcomes by managing multiple priorities but remaining focused on excellence.
Please note this role is max term for 12 months, based in Docklands.
Responsibilities include:
- Provide technical expertise in maintenance, renewals, upgrades and construction works.
- Seek and implement innovative methods of improving production and safety.
- Support the delivery of works by assisting with planning, project management, work methodology and implementation of works on site, ensuring work is completed efficiently, safely, and complies with designs and Metro Trains' standards.
- Monitor the quality of works undertaken, ensuring corrective actions are undertaken where deficiencies are identified.
- Carry out investigations as required, and review and manage all investigation reports within their area of expertise.
- Identify and support Engineering in type approvals of all infrastructure assets.
- Perform risk assessments of processes, work practices, materials, suppliers and innovations to ensure work is delivered as efficiently and safely as possible.
- Technical tertiary qualification or Certificate IV in a designated rail related discipline.
- A minimum of 3 years' experience in the rail or related industry.
- Current driver's license.

- You have the agility to engage with a variety of stakeholders, fostering positive working relationships and communicating technical data at all levels.
