  • Exciting opportunity to join SA's iconic RAA Insurance Settlements Team
  • Full-time permanent position based at Mile End with WFH after probation

This exciting opportunity will see you as a Digital Technical Motor Specialist, review, consider, determine, and complete all motor assessment activities to provide the most fair and reasonable recommendation for third parties. You will digitally determine, review, assess and verify to ensure repairs fall in line with RAA insurance repair allowances without compromise to quality and/or safety. In addition, you will:

  • Complete digital assessments complying with agreed processes and relevant acts, the insurance code of practice, Motor Vehicle Repair Industry Code (MVRIC) code of conduct along with guidelines for repair quality and safety.
  • Review and consider all cost aspects of damage to determine the appropriateness of a repair or total loss outcome and whether amendments need to be made in regard to cost or services provided.
  • Correctly identify damage severity classifications for repair and total loss.
  • Store images, research, documents etc. on ARNIE utilising available technologies.
  • Answer technical matters & enquiries from internal claims teams within work scope and defined SLA.
  • Share technical related information as it becomes known to relevant stakeholders.
  • Review repair demands to ensure that repairs have been completed to Manufacturer's specifications.
  • Review Repair invoices and confirm the listed repairs match the accident description.
  • Maintain up to date knowledge of motor vehicle technologies, accessories and modifications and repair methods.

In the role of Technical Motor Specialist, you will need the technical skill, communication, and decision-making abilities to negotiate and determine motor assessment matters to ensure a fair and reasonable outcome for all parties along with:

  • A trade certificate in panel beating and/or spray painting or related is essential or, Institute of Automotive Mechanical Engineer's AUR40520 - Certificate IV in Vehicle Loss Assessing or recognised equivalent.
  • Excellent customer focus, negotiation, and communication skills
  • Experience working within management areas of the motor repair industry, ideally having previously managed a Crash Repair Workshop, including experience with client liaison and administration.
  • Strong technical skills in relation to quoting, repair and painting of motor vehicles.
  • Strong conflict management and decision-making skills
  • Intermediate keyboard and computer skills
  • Ability to prioritise and manage day-to-day workload.
