Your new role

We have an exciting position available for an experienced and innovative Product Owner to lead our high performing Smart Campus team. Working within the Digital Platforms team, a key component of the university’s digital platform, you will drive the product strategy and ensure the delivery increments meet the customer’s needs, in accordance with agreed architectures, standard, methods and procedures.

As the Product Owner for Smart Campus, you will be responsible for the:

Team and Product Leadership

  • Lead investigative efforts to determine requirements and devise effective ICT strategies supporting operational technology practices.
  • Maximise Internet of Things (loT) capabilities for operational efficiency and campus experience.
  • Lead investigations to determine requirements and develop effective ICT strategies supporting operational technology practices.
  • Communicate the potential impact of emerging IoT practices and technologies, assessing risks and benefits.
  • Establish and promote a vision for meeting stakeholder objectives, aligning organisational roles.
  • Strategically plan and drive experience design activities, guiding adoption of agreed approaches.
  • Monitor and report project progress, ensuring adherence to agreed architectures and standards.
  • Contribute to setting standards for data protection and disaster recovery functionality.
Technical Leadership
  • Partner with development and design teams to oversee integration solution design and development.
  • Demonstrate best practices in designing, coding, testing, and documenting solutions based on business needs.
  • Manage technical documentation and self-service resources for integrations.
  • Identify and resolve pain points in the software development lifecycle to improve efficiency.
  • Adhere to established development processes, best practices, and standards.
  • Develop and enhance automation solutions for efficient code building and deployment.
  • Monitor and manage application performance, troubleshooting issues and resolving root causes.
We are looking for someone with:                           
  • Relevant degree qualification with extensive Product Owner experience in the ICT field, or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training.
  • Proven track record of effectively implementing changes to digital products and driving business process improvement.
  • Strong leadership skills demonstrated in successfully managing specialised technical teams.
  • Deep technical knowledge of relevant methodologies, programming languages and practices.
