Job description

Company Description

Join the team redefining how the world experiences design.

Hey, hello, hiya, g'day, mabuhay, kia ora, 你好, hallo, vítejte!

Thanks for stopping by. We know job hunting can be a little time consuming and you're probably keen to find out what's on offer, so we'll get straight to the point.

Where and how you can work

Our flagship campus is in Sydney. We also have a campus in Melbourne and co-working spaces in Brisbane, Perth and Adelaide. But you have choice in where and how you work. That means if you want to do your thing in the office (if you're near one), at home or a bit of both, it's up to you.

What you'd be doing in this role

Technical Program Managers are a key part of Canva's product development, as we work with senior managers and development teams to build a sustainable culture of positive urgency in delivery. We lead complex, multi-disciplinary programs and can easily switch gears. We are as comfortable working with leadership to set strategic goals and clarity priorities, as we are working with teams to communicate program status, escalate issues and manage dependencies, or discussing technical trade-offs with an engineer. We wear as many hats as we need to to get the job done.

As Canva scales change continues to be part of our DNA. But we like to think that's all part of the fun. So this will give you the flavour of the type of things you'll be working on when you start, but this will likely evolve.

At the moment, this role is focused on:

  • Partner with Content Leadership to facilitate the delivery of Canva's highest priority, complex and multi-disciplinary initiatives
  • Monitor and track delivery status across multiple teams and projects
  • Actively engage with delivery teams to identify and proactively mitigate program risks & issues
  • Assist in the identification of and help manage delivery dependencies across Canva
  • Promote consistency in regular planning, documentation and core practices across teams to ensure sustainable velocity, while maintaining agility to adapt to changing requirements
  • Foster a culture of excellence by integrating innovative approaches within projects and promoting a dynamic and forward-thinking environment
  • Assist and coach team members on project management and agile techniques
  • Partner with the TPM group to help codify and build the TPM craft and practice

You're probably a match if

  • You have a minimum of 2 years TPM or Program Management experience at a SaaS company
  • You have knowledgeable in software delivery concepts, system and practices.
  • You have a deep understanding of project management and agile development processes
  • You are a natural communicator who leads through influence, not authority
  • You a balances a process-oriented mindset with flexibility to adapt to changing needs
  • You have the ability to think strategically but also able to make crazy big goals happen. This role will be very hands on!
