A fantastic opportunity has become available for a proactive and enthusiastic Technical Assistant to join our busy thermals team in Balcatta.
This position will report to the Thermal Coating Team lead and daily tasks will include the following:
- Surface preparation of valve components, masking & grit blasting
- Operate new thermal spray equipment, both APS & HVOF processes, fully automated booth with robotic spraying and programming
- Component measuring and dimensional checks
- Ball and Seat lapping via machine and hand lapping techniques
- Crack testing components, NDT
- Develop continuous improvements
- Any other tasks required within our Thermals department
Training will be provided for all tasks to the ideal candidate – attention to detail & safety is a must have trait, along with a can-do attitude
Ideally you will have the following:
- Experience in a mechanical, Thermal Spray, machining, or production workshop environment
- Trade certificate or experience in a technical position
- Machining experience desirable or adaptable experience from your technical background.
- Ability to work overtime or shiftwork if required to meet our customer demands
- Possess good computer literacy skills
- Possess good problem-solving skills

The successful candidate will be required to meet our pre-employment criteria including drug and alcohol screening prior to an offer of employment being made.
