Our Cowal gold operation is located 40km Northeast of West Wyalong in NSW. This site is residential meaning our employees return to their own home each night rather than a camp. About the role
Reporting to the Leading Hand Exploration, the purpose of this position is t o assist the geologists with day-to-day activities related to exploration programs and ensure targets are achieved and scheduled works are completed within the required time frames.
Key result areas in this role include:
Processing of diamond drill core in a timely and accurate manner eg: meter marks, RQD, orientation lines, core photography, half-core or whole-core sampling, sample dispatch and pulp returns
Helping Mine Geologists with pit mapping and sampling duties if required and as directed
Maintaining the core farm, geology sea containers and core shed in high standard of cleanliness and order
Assisting with exploration work eg: geology field sampling, soil sampling, logistics, geophysics, and core yard work
Continuous sampling of AC/RC drill rig programs including chip traying, sampling, sample dispatch and data entry in an accurate and timely manner
Cleaning, refuelling, and maintaining geology vehicles to a high standard
Actively participating in regular safety inspections and safety meetings
Maintaining health, safety, statutory, regulatory, and licensing standards, and principles, both within own workplace and through the identification of potential risks throughout Evolution

About you
You must be reliable, have a strong work ethic, and strive to be part of a high-performing team. This role requires a willingness to carry out various tasks as directed by your supervisor. To be successful, you should have a current C Class Driver's Licence, a Forklift Ticket (desirable), experience in an open pit mining environment (desirable), a commitment to always working safely, and the ability to prioritize and schedule work effectively.
