Job description

We are currently seeking a Telecommunications & Cybersecurity Commissioning Manager (Principal Commissioning Manager). This role involves the commissioning and handing over of complex projects (in terms of project size, complex systems, international companies or multiple projects) for commercial operation to the operator ensuring the execution of all activities in accordance with Contract Requirements. This is a permanent full-time role based in our Brisbane office.

Accountabilities will include but are not limited to:

  • Assigned projects executed within the approved budget, on time
  • Ensure the definition of the commissioning strategy
  • Ensure the definition of the commissioning project activity schedule and its integration and synchronisation with the construction activities on the project delivery work plan
  • Ensure the on-time delivery of the commissioning activities in accordance with commissioning strategy, the projects schedule and in accordance with RAMS, quality and safety requirements
  • Ensure the effective implementation of HSE plans on site during commissioning phase
  • In case of multiple projects, ensure the effective integration of the detailed commissioning activity schedule for all assigned projects in accordance with the commissioning strategy 
  • Ensure the improvement of commissioning process (e.g., improve standards, introduce new process monitoring tools, etc)
  • In case of multiple projects, define the guidelines and constraints aimed at implementing the commissioning strategy and monitor their effective implementation
  • Ensure the proper hand over of the system to the Operator

WE ARE LOOKING FOR SOMEONE WITH:

  • 10 to 15 years relevant experience which includes experience in a similar role in the Rail Signalling or Telecommunications industry with demonstrated capability and skills in most of the following:
    • Mobile communications (e.g. Radio, GSM, LTE, WiFi)
    • IP/Data Network communications (e.g. CCNA/CCNP)
    • Fibre Optic and Copper-based Transmission Systems
    • Budgeting and cost estimation
    • Railway equipment and environment
    • Use of Test tools
    • Use of Database tools
    • Proficient with the Microsoft Office Suite
    • Incident/accident investigation
    • Knowledge of ERP and Configuration Management tools
    • Knowledge of tendering process
    • Education - Electrical, Electronic, Computer Engineering or Information Technology qualifications/ university degree or equivalent
