About your new role:
As a member of the Substation Design & Engineering team, you will be involved in the planning, design, and implementation/modification of operational telecommunications systems across our electricity distribution network.
The role offers exposure to a diverse array of cutting edge telecommunications equipment – you will have the opportunity to learn, grow and broaden your telecommunications skills as you gain exposure to a variety of projects, including substation, customer and telecommunications projects.
There will be extensive collaboration working with a variety of stakeholder groups within the Design and Delivery team. With ample opportunity to grow, learn and progress within the business in a supportive setting from a highly experienced team.
The remuneration for your new role is from $140,751 – $161,746 plus 12.75% super for a 9-day fortnight and from $159,049 - $182,744 plus 12.75% super for a 10-day fortnight.

About you:
As a Telecommunication Design Engineer you will have:
  • A bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Electronics or Telecommunications Engineering, (or relevant equivalent qualification) that meets the qualifications to become a Registered Professional Engineer in Queensland (RPEQ).
  • Prior industry experience working in the Energy Sector will be highly regarded but is not essential.
  • Experience in telecommunications and electrical engineering as it applies to telecommunications systems, with knowledge of the associated protection fundamentals, SCADA, power station, substation, and civil/structural requirements.
  • A solid background with optical fibre cables and associated cable joints, and termination and patching equipment. You will be familiar with TDM networks (PDH/SDH – Nokia PDH in particular), powerline carrier / protection signalling Systems and IP/MPLS networks.
  • Experience with cellular technologies, preferably GE Orbit, Cybertec, and Satellite (Sabre Ranger) variants.
  • An in depth knowledge and experience in the use of AutoCAD, SAP, Vault Document Management and Pathloss Radio Path Profiling software.
  • Strong communication, continuous improvement, innovation, and cross-workgroup collaboration experience.
