The Opportunity

Our National Technology System team are highly qualified, experienced, collaborative and client-focused professionals. We deliver cutting-edge, innovative solutions for our clients in the AV, ICT, Security, Risk Management and Smart Buildings/Precincts. The team operates as a highly autonomous and national team, allowing staff to work on local, national and international projects. We work on high-profile and complex projects that provide interesting challenges and exposure to the best in technology. 

Due to our current workbook and anticipated growth, we are looking to engage an ICT & Telecommunications Engineer / Consultant for our Melbourne, Sydney, Adelaide or Brisbane office. We are looking for someone who can work collaboratively with direct/ indirect (multidisciplinary) colleagues and external stakeholders to deliver great outcomes for our clients. 

What you’ll do:
  • Provide specialist advice on telecommunications infrastructure (OSP & ISP) 
  • Provide specialist ICT advice on ICT Infrastructure, Active Networks, Wireless and specialist technology solutions 
  • Produce drawings, specifications, calculations, schedules and design reports during all project design phases for ICT solutions 
  • Wireless network modelling via radio planning software 
  • Coordination with relevant engineering disciplines to ensure the ICT network can support their services (AV, Security, Smart Building, Electrical and Mechanical) 
  • Coordination with the Architect to ensure adequate spatial provisions have been provided 
  • Support projects in the construction phase by undertaking site inspections, witness testing and commissioning, systems integration testing, on-site Wi-Fi surveys and assisting clients in assessing contractor variation claims 
  • Write ad-hoc Consultant Advice Notices providing sound ICT advice to clients 
  • Provide ICT solution/product market scans, cost-benefit analysis, options and recommendations 
  • Trusted advisor to client decision-makers/influencers via maintaining strong working relationships 
  • Proactively client-face whilst leading all scales of ICT projects with the support of the National ICT Lead 
About You

You’re likely to have skills and experience in the following areas:

Attributes (Essential): 

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications (BSci, BEng or equivalent) or 7+ years of industry experience 
  • 3+ years’ consulting experience and 5+ years’ industry experience on Australian ICT projects 
  • Well versed in providing ICT & technology advisory services and technical designs 
  • Sound understanding of International and Australian ICT Standards 
  • Proven ability to write well-structured and clear design and advisory reports 
  • Capable of designing ICT systems as part of an integrated and converged network in coordination with the other project engineers. 
  • Proficient in commercial-grade building ICT system design and designing networks in multiple verticals such as Defence, Critical Infrastructure, Transport Healthcare, etc. 
  • Comfortable handling competing priorities, prioritising work, and meeting deadlines 
  • Strong interpersonal and communication (written/verbal) skills. 
  • Ideally an Australian Citizen or Permanent Resident 

Attributes (Desirable): 

  • RCDD or other BICSI credential 
  • CCNA, CCNP or other similar networking credential 
  • CWNA, CWDP or similar wireless network credential 
  • Proficiency in VISIO 
  • Good understanding of Wi-Fi design principles and familiarity with Wi-Fi modelling tools 
  • Track record of leading medium-scale projects and contributing to larger projects 
  • Expertise in a global consulting engineering setting 
  • Data centre, Defence, Critical Infrastructure project experience
