This is a specialist role working with a specific student in a category 2 site and will require the following skillsets:- You will be working one on one with a student who has complex and challenging undiagnosed learning, communication and behaviour needs.- You will need to have an excellent understanding of how to support a student that exhibits challenging behaviours when they do not understand social cues or expectations, is overwhelmed by sensory input or when there is a change in routine.- You will be supporting the student to minimise violent behaviour and assuring everyone's safety. This will be done through visual and non-verbal redirection; blocking aggression without engaging; ensuring the safety of the student and those around; being able to keep a calm demeanour during critical incidences and using language to deescalate heightened behaviour.- You will be a part of a regular Team around the Child (TAC) meetings and required to document behaviour.- You will develop, plan and implement a highly modified program for this student and have knowledge of ABELS assessment and use of Proloqu2go is desirable.
