This position is a fixed-term, part-time role in the Community Care team, based at the Dr Mackay Community Centre, Moruya. The successful candidate will build the capacity of the volunteer workforce to provide services to seniors living in the Eurobodalla Shire.
Your main duties will include:
– Demonstrate leadership and support the local volunteer sector through events such as Seniors’ Week and Volunteer Week.
– Encourage participation in volunteering as a healthy life choice and a way to stay connected to the Community.
– Develop and implement effective approaches to recruit the right volunteers with the right skills to work with our local seniors.
– Deliver and provide input to volunteer induction and ongoing training programs, including a volunteer orientation kit and handbook, a quarterly volunteer newsletter and a yearly training calendar.
– Develop ways to recognise volunteers and a plan for volunteer retention.
