Job description

This vital Department of Defence Agency seeks a skilled, Senior Test and Evaluation Engineer to play a crucial role within a major maritime defence program. This position offers the opportunity to contribute to Australia's national defence capabilities by providing essential engineering services for advanced maritime Guided Weapons and Explosive Ordnance (GWEO) systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive T&E activities for various maritime GWEO systems across a range of Defence programs.
  • Perform detailed physical inspections and acceptance testing on systems installed on warships.
  • Collaborate with diverse stakeholders, including SPO's, Primes, US Government, Australian GWEO, and Naval capability resources.
  • Ensure adherence to ADF T&E processes and standards.
  • Deliver project work efficiently within a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and team members.
  • Develop and execute detailed T&E plans, ensuring all requirements align with Australian Defence standards
  • Analyse test data and provide comprehensive reports on findings and recommendations.
  • Support the integration and testing of new maritime systems and technologies.
Requirements:
  • Maritime Experience: Essential.
  • Defence T&E Experience: Proven experience in defence Test and Evaluation.
  • Qualifications: Relevant tertiary engineering qualification (minimum Bachelors) in Electrical, Electronic, Communications, Mechanical, Structural, or related disciplines.
  • Project Experience: Demonstrated experience in delivering T&E services for maritime systems.
  • ADF Processes: Familiarity with ADF T&E processes, including physical inspections and acceptance testing.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Strong experience in engaging with key contacts and stakeholders effectively.
  • Technical Proficiency: In-depth knowledge of maritime systems and engineering principles.
  • Analytical Skills: Ability to analyse complex technical data and provide actionable insights.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Clearance: Active Australian NV1 (minimum) security clearance
