Role Details
As a Test Automation Engineer, you play a critical role in advancing the digital transformation of government services in South Australia.
Your responsibilities include leading the design, development, and implementation of test policies and automation for complex digital solutions. You ensure software readiness through testing, validation, and signoff, while providing authoritative guidance on test planning and execution strategies. Continuously adapting automation scripts and meticulously creating test cases are also key aspects of your role. Moreover, you think creatively to identify and test functional edge cases, while producing test scripts, materials, and regression test packs.
Collaborating closely with the product team, you demonstrate working software in agile ceremonies and advisory boards. Your attention to detail and expertise contribute significantly to achieving business outcomes and delivering highquality enhancements to digital services, all while minimizing regression impacts. Additionally, you provide expert advice and coaching across various technical areas, playing a pivotal role in driving sustainable, user focused digital government services.
You will have hands-on experience in automated API testing utilising tools like Rest Assured, Postman, or similar platforms. Additionally, expertise in employing various testing strategies such as high availability, disaster recovery, load testing, negative testing, performance testing, and functional testing is essential.
In this role will showcase your expertise in Test Automation frameworks like Selenium, Cypress.io, or similar, with exposure to Typescript. You will demonstrate your capability in designing automation frameworks to streamline testing processes effectively.
As the Test Automation Engineer, you will demonstrate your experience managing changes and executing regression tests proficiently. Familiarity with Agile task management tools like JIRA is highly desirable.
This role will work closely with the product team to ensure quality outcomes that meet the needs of the South Australian community.
Special Conditions
- The Incumbent will be required to participate in the department's Performance Management Program.
- The Incumbent may be assigned to another position at this remuneration level or equivalent.
- Some work outside of normal hours may be required.
- May be required to work within other areas of ICT and Digital Programs.
- Working within a confidential, commercially oriented and at times, politically sensitive environment.
- This role requires a National Criminal History check.
