Test Engineer

You will be joining a small team based in Brisbane. They value the ability to learn quickly, creativity, attention to detail as well as the ability to self-manage. Their product offering and platforms seeks to manage the energy you use, how it gets to your premises, how it is provided to electric vehicle systems and how it is consumed. With the 4th industrial revolution upon us, we connect IoT devices through intelligent systems to better manage your energy.

From an operational and delivery perspective, the Test Engineer will:

• Hardware test – Benchtop testing, testing of devices/products to required standards, then integration test of combined hardware modules.
• Development of test plans, test documents, procedures and test strategies.
• Design, development and documentation of test procedures, test flows and test reports.
• Test of software-based applications – Cloud-based platforms, embedded and firmware-based environments.
• Experience may be from test/product environments that include – defence, avionics, telecoms, power systems - anything that may be a modular rugged based product – number of products that make up a solution.

To be successful in this role, you will have experience as a Test Engineer within a similar company. You will have experience across the following:

• Degree in Electronics/Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering or Software Engineering.
• Test equipment use and experience might cover – Analysers, meters, high voltage power supplies/measurement equipment etc.
• Regression Testing, new feature testing of software at Applications and Cloud platform testing.
• Possible scripting language experience – Python, Perl, Shell.
• Ability to interpret Australian and International standards and knowledge of compliance requirements for the electrical and power industry.
• Experience may be from test/product environments that include – defence, avionics, telecoms, power systems - anything that may be a modular rugged based product – number of products that make up a solution.
• Accuracy, attention to detail, and completing tasks (a finisher).
• Self-driven with good time management and prioritisation skills.

Good verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to successfully collaborate with technical and non-technical staff.
Proven problem-solving ability and enjoys learning and applying new skills.
Strong autonomous background and ability to self-manage time and tasks.
