The Tier 2 Vehicle Identity Assessor is accountable to the Team Leader, Vehicle Identity for undertaking detailed inspections to assess a vehicle’s legitimate identity and origin; accurately record Vehicle Identity data to ensure the South Australian vehicle registration database integrity; providing technical support and advice to other areas of the Department for Transport and Infrastructure (DIT) and SAPOL and seizing suspect or stolen vehicles from aggressive clients when presented, maintaining “chain of evidence” process and providing evidence in court when required.About You
Are you passionate about motor vehicles and knowledgeable in vehicle compliance regulations?We are seeking a confident and knowledgeable professional to perform Vehicle Identity assessments, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation such as the Motor Vehicle Act 1959, Road Traffic Act 1961, Vehicle Standards Rules, and Australian Design Rules.You will be required to effectively communicate with customers and stakeholders, handling inspection outcomes, technical issues, and conflict resolution with sensitivity.Can you work under general direction, including coordinating or contributing to the planning and delivery of assigned trade or field based work programs or operations and setting priorities to achieve objectives?If this sounds like you and you are ready to take on this exciting opportunity and contribute to the success of our department, then we invite you to apply for this position.Requirements
A current full driver’s licence for Class C.Special Conditions
Prior to employment with the Department, the successful candidate will be required to provide:
- A National Police Check (NPC) which is required to be renewed every three years.
- A Department for Human Services (DHS) Working with Children Check (WWCC) which is required to be renewed every five years before expiry.
Temporary appointment up to 2 years.Remuneration
